Rosie O’Donnell
March 21st, 1962 Rosie O’Donnell the stand up comedienne / singer / actress / author / media personality is born! This woman has made so many accomplishments it’s pretty incredible. She also is a celebrity blogger, a rights activist and a producer.
She started her career as a comedienne and got her first break on a well known talent show called Star Search. She was 20 at the time. Her success is well deserved. She is a hard working, funny, witty and talented woman.
What some people do not know about her is her fierce dedication to charity work. She has developed a reputation for raising funds for philanthropic and charitable causes. In 1996 she received a 3 million dollar advance from Warner Books to write a her book Find Me. The most remarkable thing about this book is that she used the money towards her For All The Kids Foundation which is to bring standards to day care all across the United States.
She was also honored by the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Due to her diligent efforts she helped to raise over $22 million dollars in grants for over 1,400 child organizations!
Most people know her from her talk show the Rose O’Donnell Show. Here is a clip of this remarkable woman hosting her show with guest Johnny Depp.

Oh and there is of course another thing. Did you know that Rosie O’Donnell has a rose named after her? She does!
The Rosie O’Donnell Rose is The Hybrid Tea Rose from the family of Rosaceae and genus Rosa. It was registered in 1998. The flower is quite large with bright reddish orange and a yellowish white reverse. It is classed under the Red Hybrid Teas.
