‘A mother’s love is like an everlasting bed of roses, that continues to blossom. A mother’s love bears strength, comfort, healing and warmth. Her beauty is compared to a sunny day that shines upon each rose petal and inspires hope’. ― Ellen J. Barrier
‘The Mother’s Love Rose’ is just for us in Australia and not available in the USA or UK so I am told. It was raised by Louisette Meilland in France in 1999 and named in honour of The Nursing Mothers Association. This is now called The Breast Feeding Association of Australia who receive a small portion of the profits from all sales.
When so many lovely roses are unavailable in Australian gardens I always feel chuffed we have this one. It is a fine tall Hybrid Tea rose with elegant long stems that hold tender pale pink almost blush blooms that intensify towards the centre. The fragrance is a true old world damask scent. The Mother’s Love rose will grow to 180cm and has a bushy vigorous growth habit. Baronne Edmond de Rothschild x Madame Hilda Neuman x Natilda.
